well i managed to get signed in this morning, Ive tried a few times to leave some comments but couldn't get in?

so oor wee brother will be nearly at oor big brothers hoose by now, wish it was me. im so missing all of them. if Steven gets a job (if) im going to start saving to go over for a visit. Billy will have the video of his leaving night with him so all of the Thomsons in NZ house can view it.

Kai's football team is still loosing. the coach has asked all the boys if they want to attend Tynecastle in April for a football training session in the morning then play a 10 min game at half time when Hearts are playing Kilmarnock, afterwards to watch the second half then a photo session for a souvenir. good stuff huh. would have been better if it was Rangers, thats the team Kai likes. talking about Kai, he asked for a few things for xmas, knowing we wont have much money this year, he's asked for a drum kit!!! we all know what the answer to that was.

Dex has 4 teeth now and is stepping around his playpen. he gets up every night around 3am and is absolutely knackering me out. he was awake for about 2hrs on and off last night! ill have to put a vid of how he is now up on youtube again, ive not done that for ages. he is totally different to Kai, Dex never sleeps, Kai slept all the time, was the perfect baby.

pull your socks up!

Jeeze its been a while. I was warned aff Linda that I BETTER write a blog, cos every time she sees her most used web pages she sees her ugly face. (her words not mine!)

So, Kai started school and he loves it loves it loves it! don’t want to say wait till next year, just in case I put him off. On the football font, he’s played about 4 games since the new season, lost them all and last nights result was 10-2 to the other team! His team was playing really well towards the end of the last season, told him this was just not good enough!

Dex has his first top tooth, the other is on its way through. Thank god cos every time anyone asks how he is I always seem to be saying that he’s a torn faced crabbit wee shite. Wee shame, he’s just teething. I did tell him the other day that if I were to have him first instead of Kai, I wouldn’t have had another one!

Steven still on the dole, he’s really trying, sending away loads of emails and letters but almost not even a “thanks we got it but no thanks”.

Got the weeds out of the garden and the new grass is coming along nicely, just really need to tidy it up a wee bit before the winter. By the way, by only having 2 weeks of hot weather does that mean that we went from spring to Autumn? how many years in a row must this happen to just score off summer all together?

back again

Well we did go to Blair Drummond safari park last week, and it was a great day. Kai didn’t even want any friends to come with us so it was truly a family day out. We had a picnic under a tree and got sheltered from the rain. It was only on for a wee while, so when we finished eating, we went round to see everything. They even sold fresh doughnuts! Mmmmm lovely!

At Liam's 1st birthday on Saturday, Uncle Jack and Auntie Sally came with wee John. What a laff we had, (see Linda’s) Jack was ending himself, it was so funny, you really had to be there. Liam is like a bullet crawling over the floor, Dex and him were playing with Shannon’s bangles at one point and Liam was taking Dex’s off him, Dex had to just watch him. He was so quick! All in all it was a fabulous day, Linda kept saying “Am I the only one thats drunk?” The photo above is when she was asking, you decide. I was more tired by the end of the night, after we had the Wii out and playing tennis and ten pin bowling, that kinda took it outta me.

Back to work yesterday. After having 2 weeks off, I was getting used to being off and really didn’t want to go back. I think almost everyone will be the same. I hate going back to work after holidays. didn’t feel to well in the morning, but as the day progressed I felt better.

After day two back at work, the thought of groundhog day is coming back. Aww well, back to jiving tomorrow night, that should take the repetition out a bit.

burning the candle at both ends

Had a really great night on Saturday night. Mum drove to Prestwick and we all stayed at Linda’s, who had me up till 6am!!!

Got home yesterday with a big hangover. I remember the days when I never ever got a hangover, how bliss those days were.

I had a really bad headache last night but I dont know if its with the drinking or with the hole in my tooth which I managed to brush out of my back tooth on Friday night. I was at the dentist for a check up a couple months ago and I told her that I had some sensitivity on my back tooth. She filled it but right away I had a suspicion she filled the wrong tooth, I could still feel that it wasn’t quite right. So after my KFC on Friday I gave my teeth a good brush and that’s when the bit came out.

Been thinking of what to do with Kai while im still on holiday, ive got this week left and was looking about going to Blair Drummond safari park tomorrow. I hope the weather keeps clear of rain. that’s all we’ve had since Steven put the grass seed down round the back. At least he hasn’t had to go and water it every day.

Just about to go down the shops, going to get some things that I can make lots of things with. Im having a wee case of cooking fever.

Get Bea out!

Was at the centre yesterday to get a dress from “Next” that Linda had bought last week for £12 in the sale. I went down but they didn’t have my size, I saw other ones but they only had them in a size 28!! A wee bit to big for me I think. Ended up getting Kai his new school bag and school shoes. Remembered he needed trainers for PE so had a look for some. He needed football trainers too cos he’s grown out of his other ones, we managed to get a pair of trainers and football boots, both from the “Nike” outlet store for … £5.50 for trainers and £6.50 for boots!! WOW!!! And he’s now a big size 8!!!

Was going to go for shopping but it was near dinner time and we were all starving, so we just went to “KFC” and got a variety bucket. Bang goes my diet, again.

Had a quiet night in and watched Big Brother on the telly. I wanted Marcus evicted but the public chose Noirin, I like her and thought she was misunderstood, dont like that Bea though, what a shit stirring bitch she is.

I'm numero uno!

Im the best at getting Dex to sleep! Steven was just trying to put him down for a nap for about 20mins but all Dex wanted to do was jump about. So I took him off him and “abracadabra” he’s asleep straight away. Steven had gone into the kitchen to make a coffee and he had only just started it when Dex had fallen asleep in his mammies arms. The trick is to kid-on you don’t want to put him to sleep by doing “this little piggy” and “round the garden” so he thinks your having a laff with him, then sing a wee song, today was the rainbow song and before I got to the “listen with your eyes” he was sleeping, like a baby.

still keeping up with the jiving classes. i took my neighbour's girlfriend last night, she's from Czech Republic and speaks really good english. she never goes anywhere so i thought i should try to get her out of the house. she loved it! Shannon is still loving it too, and we're both getting so much better. i think Marie will come with us again, i hope she does cos i know what its like to be never over the door, its really depressing.

going to mum's later on. Linda and her two are going as well. Robbie left his phone here last night and i was telling him i was going to answer all his txt's with something like "aw rite sexy, hows about it?" but since its in Kai's room, i told him Kai would just answer for him, and knowing Kai, he would do the same as me. i think he knows im only kidding. Billy was supposed to be moving in with mum today, but they still have quite a bit to do in their flat first so i dont think we'll be seeing him today.

Aw naw, checked my bank this morning to see that I had £36 taken off for a “free” trial of Dazzlewhite. I got on to txt Linda straight away cos she got a “free” trial too and told her to phone her bank to stop any payments going through. What silly billy’s, we both hadn’t read the satisfaction guarantee bit that tells you that you’ll be charged every month for a 3 month supply to be sent out. Now I have to phone bloody America to see if I can get my money back.

Was my turn for Dex this morning. My god he’s a wee shit machine. I changed his nappy about 4 times before half 10!!

better late...

Ok, its now 25 past 1 on Sunday night Monday morning. Linda is in the boys room trying to get them to put the light out, telling them the electricity is going to trip. Now they probably know nothing about electricity so I know Kai will be shitting himself.

Linda came through this afternoon, I had a wee half bottle o vodka I bought in not knowing she’d be up for a wee drink. How wrong was I.

About half 7 tonight, out came the vodie. We talked and watched the telly till the vodie ran out, so Linda txt her Kirky pal Denise to see if she knew where we could get some more. She had some and said she’d meet us half way. So I told Steven we were going to meet Denise, even thought Linda had pointed to her purse before she went into the toilet insinuating “going to the pub for one”. so off we went to meet Denise, and huckled her into the pub. After a wee dance, and a few shots on the karaoke, 2 n half hours later, we headed up the road, and this is where I am now cos Linda MADE me Write a blog.

this and that

I just love watching Dex. He’s watching one of his favourite programmes, “Third and Bird”, It's a great wee programme. Its about birds that live in the trees, Leaf Street I think its called. Its like a cartoon but they sing great songs that are really catchy! He gives out wee, sometimes big, screams of delight, he LOVES it!

Going to jiving classes tonight with Shannon. This is our 3rd week in a row we’ve went. I’m on a roll. I think the last time I went twice then didn’t go back, but I bought dancing shoes a while ago, so I don’t want them to go to waste and never get to wear them.

The past few night ive been trying different recipes from the web. Both times I didn’t have all the ingredients so I swapped a few. The first night it was pork and it said to put in a big fat garlic clove. I didn’t have a big fat one so I used 2 instead. Ugh, far too much, Kai didn’t eat his. Last night I tried “ikea Swedish meatballs”, I didn’t have beef stock or all spice, so I used a lamb stock and Chinese five spices. I didn’t know that there was much of a difference between the spices, but Steven said there was, it tasted alright though. The sauce made from lamb was edible but I would only use beef stock next time, I could taste it for ages afterwards, not nice.

It was Kai’s trophy day today. All the other players had been saying that he should get the most improved trophy, I told him not to get his hopes up just in case. When Michael, the coach, was giving out the most improved player trophy, he said “When this boy joined the club I thought he’d be a footballer when I’m a millionaire, but he has worked really hard and always does what he’s told and you just wouldn’t recognize this boy if you were to see him play today. He is starting to show just what skill he has and im very proud of just how much his football has changed. Ok Kai, here’s your trophy for most improved player of the year.” I was so busy trying to get my phone to take a photo I couldn’t clap for him. I was so proud, I was almost crying. That’s my boy!

Was going to do a longish post but Dex is STILL up! i think its his teeth although he's not crying, i think he just wants to be hanging out with his parents.

Was at work, came home, gutted out Kai's room, went to East Calder for nappies, had dinner, watched eastenders - while pausing to see to Dex, watched big brother, now I'm writing this, then going to bed. I'm cream krackered!

I need more hours in the day!

First thing

No time for blogs these days, Dex is starting to be a handful with his sleep. Its been ten o’clock all this week, apart from Wednesday I think.

Was Steven’s turn to get up for Dex this morning as I was having my only lie in. I heard him say to Murray, “BAD BOY!” so I was lying thinking, oh no, what now. He came through to tell me. During the night he had got up to put Murray in the kitchen because he was barking and scratching the living room door, so to stop him waking everyone up, Steven put him in the kitchen. Bad move. When he went into the kitchen this morning, Murray had managed to get into his food cupboard and ate all his biscuits! That was almost a full box, like 40 odd biscuits. So, needless to say, Murray had relieved his fullness all over the kitchen floor. So up I got, while I fed Dex, Steven was mopping the kitchen floor with bleach and Murray was sent to the hall. After he had mopped he took Murray out, that’s when I went back in the kitchen and sprayed it all over with kitchen cleaner spray (with bleach), just in case he missed a bit. So the floor has now been washed and washed again, and ill wash it again just in case, this was all done before 8.30 this morning!!!

Go to sleep my baby. . .

Work this morning, not to bad. I really hate doing mail merge now, I’ve been thinking of saying to my supervisor just to put me on indexing, it‘ll give me another thing to learn anyway.

Since turning 12, Kai’s been pushing the line, just a wee bit. Steven caught him playing an over 18 game that he’s not allowed. It’s his pals game (who’s a year younger than Kai) and he brought it up here, don’t know if Kai asked him to or not, but he put it on in his bedroom and got caught from Steven. Ha ha. The cheek of him! Tut tut. So his punishment is taking Murray out for his walks all week.

After work we all went down to the shops, now im skint again. Oh well at least we’ll not starve.

Came home from shops and Linda was in the house with Robbie, Laura and Beverly. She was dropping off Robbie and picking up Beverly. Robbie will be staying till Friday, so that’ll be Kai got a companion for Murray’s walks all week.

Ive come to realize why im short of blogs. Dex is having problems staying asleep. We put him to bed at his usual time of 6.30 - 7.00 when he’s asleep, then about half an hour later he wakes up and he wont go back to sleep. We’ve tried leaving him crying for a wee while but he gets to upset. So since sometime last week, he’s been getting up and staying awake. The latest he was up was Saturday night, he was up till 10.30! I felt like I hadn’t had a Saturday night. Tonight he was put back through just after 10. Im going to make his bed time a bit later to see if he’ll stay asleep doing that.

Happy 13th birthday Robbie!

Took Dex to the hospital again today, his eczema has flared up again, wee soul. All his head is red and half his wee face too. It must be as itchy as hell, he’s always trying to scratch it so he has to have socks on his hands all the time. it’s a wee shame cos he cant really pick things up or play with his toys as easily, but I suppose he’s adapted a bit. Other than that he’s a happy wee boy, always smiling with his two bottom teeth.

Was on the phone to mum earlier. She was telling me the other night that she was going to start to take Shannon to her jiving class every second Wednesday. Well ive decided to go as well, so ill just pick Shannon up and take her through. It’ll be good going to “the dancing” with her, and mum, and im sure Linda will be going along sometimes. So instead of just going every second week, I can take Shannon through myself. I’ll be watching the road very carefully when I go this week so I know the way. I really hate driving somewhere I don’t know, especially in town, I get really nervous, its horrible! This is also good cos it’ll be exercise for me and it’ll get me out of the house, as well as I wont be able to go when Steven gets a job so now’s the time. AND I have a weekend away with Mum and Linda later in the year for a rock and roll weekend, so I really HAVE to learn how to jive!

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

Time I wrote a post.

Up to nothing much the past few days, just working and down at the shops. But I bet if I’d kept up with my blogger it would look like I’d been up to loads!

Absolute scorcher today, the sun only really started shining about 3.30ish, but when it wasn’t out it was still like an oven. I had just taken Dex in from the garden after being out in the clouds for an hour to give him his dinner. 20 mins later he was sleeping, so told Kai to keep an ear out for him while I went back outside. IT WAS ROASTING!!!! Steven was working in the garden, eventually getting round to digging out the weeds, how he did it I never know. I was sitting sweltering in the heat watching him work and wiping his brow every so often. Fiona came home and told us the temperature was around 32c! That’s HOT!

hip hip... hooray

Was up and rushing about yesterday morning to get ready to go to Whitburn galaday. Everyone in Stevens family go down to his gran’s house to watch the walk go by. She always puts on a spread and I just love her caramel cup cakes. Their galaday is a big thing, the whole place gets involved and everyone has the party feeling in them. Its just like Christmas or New Year at galaday’s, sometimes better, with a really friendly atmosphere.
Stevens mum and dad looked after Kai and Dex for us last night so we could go out to the local pub. His sister and her boyfriend came out with us for the first time. Its his younger sister, she’s only 21, so’s her boyfriend. The pub had a band on who let a couple of younger guys have a shot. I don’t know if it was previously set up or if it was spontaneous cos the younger guys were quite rubbish but thought they were good. They were singing Oasis songs and the singer was standing like Liam Gallagher thinking he looked cool, I don’t like Liam Gallagher so he didn’t impress me. We all had a really good night, all happy and merry.

Got home from Whitburn today then got a phone call from mum saying that she was coming for a visit. She had gone to Billy’s and would be here a bit later. Linda phoned a wee while after that saying she was coming for a visit cos she was going out with her pal in Kirknewton. So I had a really nice afternoon today. The whole weekend has been good, spending time with Stevens family yesterday then mine today. Lovely.

A punch in the face and a pull of the hair wouldnt go a miss.

Went to Balerno high school last night for a parents meeting for all the new 1st years. The head teacher done a presentation on how great their school is and we met the guidance teacher for Kai’s house. Kai isn’t happy with the classes he’s in, he’s the only boy from his school in his class. I had a wee word with his guidance teacher (Mr McKinney) to see if they could do something about it because he really is not looking forward to going up to high school. I was told that their were 142 pupils from 17 different schools all going up to high school so he wont be the only one feeling all alone. I spoke to him about it, but I think he’s still a bit anxious, im sure he’ll be fine.

Before I went up to the high school, I took Kai back to the hairdressers to get his hair fixed from last week. The lassie hardly (if any) cut the back or sides of his hair and because his hair is SO THICK, it bulks out. I nearly cut it myself but I thought “no, im not having it, I paid bloody £9 for it and she hardly touched it!” so I phoned and was told to go back down. Its much better now apart from the sides are different lengths. I give up.

On the work front, my so called “pal” who I work with everyday, had gone to the supervisors and asked for another woman to be trained up in my job. (This was before I came back from maternity leave.)Apparently it’s a full time job, but ive been doing it for 2 years so I don’t know how that one was worked out. This “pal” gets everything she wants, she has influenced loads in the work. The only thing different about her and me is she is supposed to make sure all the work is done on time to leave in the post, but me and Pat, (the other woman who I work with) do that anyway, and she is full time. We have NEVER EVER had a breech (mistake) so their is no reason I should be moved on. She knows if someone else gets trained up in my job, I will be moved on to something else. She blatantly told me that she told this other woman that she would make sure she got her training. I said to her “what about me?” she said id be put down to indexing which is a mind numbing job. I was nearly greeting. So the next day, I went to my supervisor and told her I thought Sarah, (my “pal”) had far to much say in what goes on with the staff and that I would not be happy if I was moved to indexing. She said she would try to have me trained on something else and this is when I found out that my job is apparently a full time job. I AM NOT HAPPY! Anyway, she agreed that Sarah has too much say in things and her reigns do have to be pulled in, but the other team leader encourages her to be like that. In a way, im glad to be moved, especially as I wont be working with a two faced fucker any more. Im really angry that someone who is not my supervisor had so much say in MY work. I really want to punch her face in, but that wouldn’t be very professional!!

Was at Kai’s leavers assembly tonight, it was really great and a bit emotional, I fair enjoyed myself so a did. We had to take Dex with us. Steven was going to stay at home and put him to bed but I wanted Steven to come too. It started at 7pm that’s after Dex’s bed time, so we got him all ready for bed and took his bottle with us. At the start he was all excited (Dex) and was making all these grunting noises. I was like “oh no!” As soon as it started he went all quiet. Great things these dummy’s. Kai was great, we were right squished up in the front row about a foot and a half away from the P7s, so I could see Kai close up. They all sang “we will rock you” and “the greatest day of our lives”, that’s when Dex fell asleep. Next all the weans did a fashion show kinda thing with hats they made ages ago. Every time one came on they got a big clap, that’s when Dex woke up. The finale was they all played Brazilian drums and percussion, and as you can imagine, it was so loud you could feel it all through your body. Dex was sitting on my knee, I had one side of his head pressed to my chest and my hand clamped over his other ear to block as much sound out as I could. He didn’t even flinch with the noise. I’m thinking he either loves loud music or he’s deaf!

Work has been good. The weekends are fast again!

Knocked out with that punch!

Came home around 1am after Stacey’s party. Went straight into the bathroom where I stayed for about an hour. My hair was tied back, so you can imagine what kind of state I was in. It was horrible. I’m putting it down to mixing my drink with the punch Mandy made. I only had 3 of them, I was thinking about Sally’s party today, and trying to watch what I was drinking. It was when I got home I realized just how drunk I was. I couldn’t stand properly, staggering around the bathroom, having to grab a hold of things to stop me falling. Terrible way to be. So this left me still in a state when I woke up. There was no way I could have safely drove through to Glasgow, the bbq was off for me. Gutted, I really wanted to go.

Today I’ve just been lying around waiting to feel better. Watched some “come dine with me” and made the dinner. That’s about it. Going in for a long relaxing bath then off for an early night. Really need it.

Thats the rain on again.

It was Kirknewton gala day today, we went over for a wee while but there was not much happening. There was however an escape artist there who was quite good. His patter was great, got everyone to have a wee laff. The weather was raining off and on, not like last Saturday when the heavens opened, but enough for your hood to be put up.


I’ve been really tired this week, I don’t know if its going back to work or if I need iron tables again? I’ve got some left over from my pregnancy so ill take them for a week to see how I am, you cant take too much, your body just gets rid of it.

I started my diet again on Monday, I’m doing all right but Steven’s not doing his job. I told him because he’s not working, his job is to motivate me for exercises and keep me going at it. Well he’s not done it! I wanted to go out walking, but he didn’t motivate me! Aww well, I suppose the weather was to bad for walking.

Going to wee Stacey’s 21st birthday party tonight. Steven was invited too but we cant get a baby sitter, so its me out on my own again. Ill have to be home kinda early because its Auntie Sally’s 60th BBQ tomorrow afternoon, Steven still cant drive, so ill have to be fit to drive to Glasgow.

Eeee up

Been catching up with loads this week and never got round to my blogger.

Well that’s week one of my work all over with. Ive been having some trouble getting any holidays booked in work, but after going to my manager and having a look on the self service HR web site I managed to get most of them sorted. I think they were trying to pull a fast one on me, thinking they could get away with it, but they don’t know me and time off work. I would have phoned HR if I couldn’t get it sorted, they were trying to give me my 2 week summer holidays 4 weeks apart! “No way!” I thought, that’s just NOT happening. No one called me to let me know any cut off dates (which have been changed since I was last there), or told me if I even had a job to come back to! They eventually said, after phoning HR themselves, that if I hadn’t come back when I did, they wouldn’t have got cover for me so they have to honour my holidays! Yeah!

Dex’s new sound this week is Eeeeeeeeeeeee. Last week it was da da da, the week before was ba ba ba, im really not to keen on this one. He says it ALL the time, even when he’s crying its EeeeeeeeeeeeeEEeeeeeeeeeeEEeeeeeeeeeeee!!! Not impressed.

Hi ho hi ho, da da da da da da...

First day back to work and it really wasn’t to bad. I’d forgotten everything and had to be shown again, all my log-on id’s were gone. So I was sorting all them out for most of my 4hrs. I found out I have all my holidays for the year still to take, but the problem is, all of the holidays are taken during summer apart from 1 week at the end of July, at least its not the end of August, I want to spend some time with Kai over the holidays. So I don’t know what they are going to propose for me and all my holidays, cos I cant carry them over to next year.

Mum phoned and told me she was on platform through this way. Took Kai and Katrina with me and got back at 8.30. Katrina loves when she gets a reading from my mum, so she gave her a wee one before we left.

Came home and Steven’s took over the telly for tonight, the football’s on and its not even Rangers he’s watching, its USA v ITA!!

Work again tomorrow. I must say, it’s a bit strange all this working talk. Have to get into it again.

Oh Noah! Not again!

Well, we didn’t win on the lottery last night, thought id just tell you that.

Mum dropped through this morning on her way home from her weekend in Edinburgh, she stayed about an hour then went through to Billy’s on her way back home.

Billy and Lynn came over for a visit with Liam this afternoon. We got the weans outside with their toys, although it wasn’t sunshine, it was quite warm, until the rain came. It started off quiet nicely, just a light drizzle, so we headed back inside. I had to go to the shop for milk so I got my hooded jacket on, I was alright for this wee shower. Halfway down the stairs I heard Steven shouting something like “you cant go out in that”, but I was brave and took hold of the door handle. When I opened the door the noise hit me first, it was PELTING with rain, so much so that I froze and said… ”fuck!” About I turned to go back up the stairs. A’m no goan oot in that! It was the same as yesterday, absolutely teaming down! After about 5 mins it started to go off a bit, so I got Murray and off we went.
We were about 5 steps away from the shop when I saw the lightning then straight away was a massive BANG!!! Loud as fuck!!! I even got such a fright I jumped! All the lights were out in the shop and the tills were off, but I did manage to get what I needed, and pay tomorrow. Got home and that’s when it really started. It was WORSE than yesterday, (and that’s saying something) it was like it was all coming down at the same time, not any drops of rain, more like puddles of rain falling from the sky. Meanwhile, the thunder and lightning are at it big time. Then the hailstones came on and the whole place was almost white. I had rivers and lakes outside my house, the park was turning into the sea, I’ve never seen anything like it! So exciting!
That’s me back again, I just got kicked off the pc cos Kai’s xbox was broke and it was that lightning that did it! I just overheard Steven on the phone to his dad and he was saying to him that it was frightening! Torrential wasn’t the word for it! And he was waiting for Noah to come floating down the street! I love thunder storms.

While I was waiting for the computer back I was ironing my clothes for going back to work tomorrow, and I was thinking to myself that it wont be to bad. If I was to take all the maternity leave off it would be much harder to go back. One thing that im dreading is I feel really fat. I stopped my last diet at Easter time when all the chocolate was about. I was doing really well then too. This time im going for the exercise and get into it. I really HAVE to do it. ‘Keep thinking positive thoughts Louise.’ I have to dress up for work so I can eventually get out of these jeans! That’s all ive wore, straight leg, boot cut and ankle brushers. So if im getting dressed up for my work, ill want to look better so maybe this will encourage me to keep it up. Ive got loads of clothes ive kept for when im slim again and I want to be wearing them. Christmas time and ill fit into them again, I HAVE to. That Easters got a lot to answer for!

I LOVE the shows!!

The top pic is of the wee note i got from Laura when she sent me the fridge magnet, and the others are of Shannon and Kai with their braces on and Billy and Kai. I see more of John in Billy nearly everytime i see him!

Got all ready to go down to East Calder gala, and as soon as we were all ready, the heavens opened. The thunder sounded as soon as we got to the car then when we were driving off, I saw the lightning. There’s no other word than it was f’n PISHING down!!! It was like a flash flood, water everywhere, puddles all over the road, but I did get a free car wash. Well, as you’d guess, no-one was there and anyone who was there was either sheltering or running. So we took a wee trip to the garden centre and took the weans in (Kai’s pal Andrew was with us) for a juice and cake. By the time we got out, the rain was off, so we made our way back up to the shows. The boys wouldn’t go on anything! I was trying to get them on some of the rides but the pair of them were total woosies! They just wanted shots on the stalls, well I suppose if that’s what they like eh.

Going to watch “what happens in Las Vegas” on telly tonight and have a wee vodie or two.

Oh! And I put 2 lucky dips on the lottery as well tonight. I never put the lottery on, so we’ll see if I get lucky!

Its blowing a gale here!

Thursday morning I went to the dentist to get the 2 fillings done I was talking about. I got 2 jags, one at the top and one at the bottom. I’m never bothered by the dentist but when I came out I was really shaking! You could even see my hands all shaky. Maybe part of it was I had asked about getting a fixed brace, and because I get free dental treatment I thought it’d cost nothing. Wrong. Around £2,000 per fixed brace and £30 just to see the orthodontist!

Up the road then out to potter about in the garden, ended up staying out till 5oclk burning wood from behind the shed. Its all starting to really take shape now.

After dinner took Kai to football game, got home, waited 30 mins, then had to go back for him. I was a wee bit early so I got to watch almost all the second half. It started pelting down and I didn’t have a hood so I got totally soaked waiting for the game to finish. I quite like watching them play, when the weathers good.

Friday

Didnt get over the door till after 12 today. Dex had another long nap, this time in the morning. he stayed in bed till after 11. So i fed him then went out the back where Steven had cut back the big connifers. I wanted them really chopped back to give us more garden space, and thats what he did, but now there are big spaces for the wind to come through. It still looks good, just a bigger breeze. I told him not to do that again!

Steven’s mum and dad came through to see us just before my mum came, they didn’t stay long, mum was going out in Edinburgh for the weekend so stopped in on the passing. Ann and Jim were at West Calder getting a new bed and dropped in on their way home. A little while later, Billy and Shannon came for a couple hours, gave them dinner then Kai and Billy had a bit of a carry on trying to see who's the strongest. Thats their thing, but now Kai's getting stronger, Billy's running away to Newzealand!!! He's getting feart now.

Mr Postman

Well I got an absolutely lovely start to my Wednesday. Yesterday Steven got a phone call from someone asking for our postcode, I asked who it was and he said he wasn’t allowed to say!? He should have just said his mum or someone but no. So that was me, wondering. The postie came so I went down stairs to get it and it was a handwritten envelope. Oooooh says I! Who’s this from? As soon as I looked at the hand writing I knew it was Laura straight away. The wee sweetheart had made me a fridge magnet and posted it to me, it was soooo cute. She spelled instructions as “instuckshoins” Awwww.

Dex slept for nearly 3hrs this afternoon! I didn’t want to wake him, he must have needed it, his body’s way of getting rid of the cold, which by the way, has caused his nose to fill up with snot that needs wiping constantly. I cant stand seeing weans with snotty noses, especially ones where its blowing bubbles! (sorry Linda)

Oh, nearly forgot. Its official, i start back to work on Monday! Cant believe im going back just before the beginning of the summer holidays. I hope I can still get some holidays when Kai's off, i'll feel like i have a cheek asking when ive just had 9mths off.

Ok Saturday

Just about to get ready to go to the Midcalder Gala to meet pals. Dex was in bed sleeping but started to cough so I went in to check he was Ok when he started being sick. I whipped him out of bed and took him through to the living room to clean him up, it was round the back of his head and all of a sudden “whoosh” a massive flow straight out in front of him, projectile vomit everywhere. To be on the safe side, I called NHS 24. The nurse made an appointment for him at the out of hours docs up at the hospital, I knew he was ok but just wanted to check. (can never be to careful these days. See Linda’s blog.) So doctor checked him over, everything was fine. He just has a cold but its not in his chest.

Was out waiting on the bus to go to Midcalder when a taxi pulled up at my neighbours house from the shops. I asked the driver how much to Midcalder and he said he’d give me a lift!!! I asked him if he was going that way anyway, he said he’d make sure he’d go that way! What about that then eh? Free taxi! So that was me all hyper and excited! I couldn’t believe it. So met up with said pals in the pub, without Steven or weans. Later on we all went up to Tracey's house and she chucked us all out at 9 so then went on to Manday’s till I went home about the back a’11.


Sunday

Nothing much happening on Sunday, just the usual tidy up, make dinner etc… I always do this on a hangover day, as little as possible.

Monday

Kai got his braces in today. He had asked for blue and white bands along the metal but they ended up putting red and blue and it cant be changed for another 5 weeks. He hates wearing them, keeps saying how annoying they are. I felt so sorry for him, he can hardly eat anything. I gave him some soup for his dinner and a piece of bread. He dipped ONE piece in his soup and couldn’t eat any more, it hurt too bad. Kai’s not one for passing when it comes to food, just hope this doesn’t put him off eating, he’s already a big skinnymalinck.

Tuesday

Went to shops for some soft stuff for Kai to eat. When he got home from school he came into the kitchen asking what we got him. He must have been starving. Steven showed him what we got and pulled out lots of Dex’s food. Kai looked at me to show he knew Steven was joking but saw my face was serious and he almost turned pale! We were joking, it was such fun.
He was to take a packed lunch in today and Steven gave him, 2 yogurts, 2 peaches, juice and a packet of quavers. This is before we had been to the shops. I asked him how he got on with it, and he said it was horrible, everyone else had hamburgers and cookies, all his favourite things in fact. Och he’ll be back to normal in a couple of days.

Awww wee Dex is’nay well, he’s got a bad cold and he’s coughing all over the place. He’s also blowing wee bubbles from his nose and wanting cuddled all the time. Wee soul. Cant even do anything for him, he cant get any cough medicine until he’s 2, so we’re just putting Karvol on a tissue beside him at night. Thought he was going to be awake all night tonight, took him ages to be left on his own for him to go to sleep tonight, every time we left him or even moved away from him he woke up with a wee pitiful greet. Awww

Went to shops today to get some food for Dex, stayed in the rest of the day. Only watched some telly, nothing exciting.

Oh my god!! you have to see this mum, click it! i found it today, what a blast from the past, got quite emotional too.

right i think ive fixed it. its just the commonwealth games 1986 when i was in it. you dont see me, so you might not even be bothered to look at it. i found it through Rachel's b/f site on youtube when i was showing Steven his mum totally steaming, so much so that she was like Rab C Nesbit. its the first time ive saw a woman like him, and she wasnt trying! so thats when i stumbled upon the dance routine i did when i was 12. i really felt myself fill up and tried my hardest not to cry with emotion. i phoned Mandy later on and told her about it and she called me a "fanny" for nearly greetin!

when John made a link, the other week to "mama he's making eyes at me" i started to sing it to Dex and he laughs at me! i think he likes it. another thanks to John!

Big Brother 10 started tonight so that was Steven's eyes rolling when i told him. i think he secretly likes it.

God, I forgot my password AGAIN! Thought I wasn’t going to get signed in tonight.

Up early to take Steven to interview this morning. I asked him how it went, he said ok but the shifts are 3 days dayshift and 2 back shift. That’s no good to me at all cos we’d still need a child minder, so he cant take it. He also didn’t ask what the wages were, saying that he’d NEVER ask about money. Well that’s one thing id always ask. You wouldn’t want to be waiting to hear if you’ve got the job only to find out the wages are crap AFTER you start!

I signed up for the “Mr Motivator’s bikini diet” on GMTV web site today. It starts on June 15th, I think if I have email sent to me reminding me to get fit, I just might stay on track? I really REALLY have to get into this and loose lots of weight. I’m going to start taking Dex for long walks up the road towards Balerno, its about 3 miles there and back. The only thing with it is the pavements are really skinny, but the road isn’t very busy. Think ill take Steven with me the first time in case I pass out!

Kai went to a football tournament tonight with his school. It was a last minute thing. They lost all 3 matches. I blame the socks, they gave him a pair that would fit a size 1, he’s going into a size 8!!!

Had my hair cut today. I always think id love to have a different style, other than the long hair ive had for the last 15 yrs. Jayne (my hairdresser) asked what id like to have done today, and I just looked at her and she said “a wee to-tay bit?” I said “och, take 2inches off” “what! Will I give you a valium before I start!” says she, “Erm, ok, just take the 1inch off then.” phew that was a close one!

My turn for Dex this morning, he got up at 7.30! That’s the latest for weeks and weeks, its normally about 5.30, so I was really glad of the extra long lie. Woke Kai up for school, that’s him all better now.

Got a phone call from mum telling me Robbie was in hospital!! He fell of a bike getting a backie and gave himself a hairline fracture on his skull! What a shocker! She said he was ok but that didn’t stop me worrying. Txt Linda to tell her to keep me up-dated. She phoned later on and told me he really was ok. Was going to phone John but thought better of it, as in his blog he said he was really tired, so I thought, being on the other side of the world, he’d be in his bed.

As for the rest of the day, went out to the garden to catch the last of the rays. Supposed to be back to normal Scottish weather from now on. Oh well, it was lovely while it lasted. But maybe with a wee bit of hope, it could be sunny again tomorrow?

Steven’s interview for Curray’s is tomorrow morning, so we’ll all have to be ready to go out at 9. And he’s had a shave! A clean one at that! He normally uses the trimmer to give him a wee bit stubble, which I like, but this time (because of his interview) he done the full shebang!

not sleepy time yet!

Up early today, and it wasn’t my turn for Dex! And talking about Dex, i totally forgot to say that he has two bottom teeth!!! They were begining to come through last week and one poked through on Friday, the other appeared on Saturday!

Kai was off school today, he’s been complaining all weekend of not feeling well and he had a rash yesterday on his belly. Think he’s a bit better now, sometimes when I ask, he’s ok, then he’s not to well again.

Down to the shops, needed it, the cupboards were looking quite bare.

Back up again and gave Kai and Dex their lunch, then it was out to the garden again for us! Kai and Dex stayed in, Kai was keeping an eye on his wee brother.

Had another Barbie for dinner then back in again to get Dexy ready for bath and bed. Just when he had his bandages on, waiting for his bottle, he started to fall asleep. Tried keeping him awake but he just wasn’t having it, so funny!

Uploading some more vids on youtube for y’all to have a look. Including Kai and me trying to stop Dex from falling asleep.

Another scorcher!!!

Went to Kai’s football game, they got beat with the last kick of the ball, 5-6. One more friendly until the new season starts, then I think that when they all move up to under 13’s.

Came home and out to sit in the garden, and that’s where I stayed all day!

Went to bed at 11pm, my turn for Dex in the morning.

Sunday

Another day like yesterday, total blissful sunshine!

Mum dropped in on her way home from Edinburgh where she had a night out last night. Gave her a wee present I got for her. It was an Elvis dress change fridge magnet. Its great!! He’s got about 4 different outfits to change, along with shades, shoes and even 2 different guitars! I think I might just get one for myself too! We sat out in the garden for a bit, had a wee blether then she left to go home to sit out her own back.

After mum went, made lunch and sat out the back for the rest of the day.

Hopefully do the same tomorrow, only I really do have to go shopping.

dont blame it on the sunshine

Went to Whitburn yesterday to Stevens grans first then up to his mums. We were just about to get ready to go when she told us she had made us dinner so we had to stay around for it. Ended up not getting home in time for Dex’s bath, so he didn’t get to bed till after 7.30, an hour later than usual.

Out in the garden today, cutting the grass and planting some bulbs I found on another patch of the garden that still has weeds. Pottered about a bit enjoying the sun. It was such a beautiful day today, absolutely gorgeous infact, very sunny and hot, for a change. I put some sun cream on before I went out but didn’t put any on my back, and low and behold, my back is totally burnt!

Walked down to the school at 3.30 to get Kai. He was coming home from camp and I was really excited to see him. Waited for half an hour then the head mistress came out to tell us the bus was stuck in traffic at Kingston bridge in Glasgow and wouldn’t be there till about 4.45!! God, the wait! Eventually got him and gave him a massive big cuddle!


Just HAD to get the BBQ out for dinner. Billy and Shannon came up, Linda was in Portobello and phoned earlier saying she might drop in, ended up just Billy and Shannon. Got everyone feed and watered and by about 5ish Dex fell asleep. He was sleeping till about 6 so when he woke up I took him in for his bath, got him all ready for bed and thought he’d still be tired and go to sleep his normal time. No, not a chance, that was him up till nearly 10 o’clock!!

Hopefully going to be a nice day tomorrow, its supposed to be nice all weekend, ill be putting PLENTY of sun cream on anyway.

give him a job!

Steven’s got an interview next week for “Currys”, I think its in the warehouse. Hope he gets it. I told him he really has to take anything he gets because I cant afford to keep him on my maternity wage. I'm supposed to go back to work in a couple of weeks, but if he gets a day time job, I might take the extended maternity leave which will take me up to September, so I can be here when Kai’s on school holidays. We had it all planned out with his last job. He’d have Dex in the morning while I was at work, then he’d go to his work in the afternoon when I got home. Well that’s all up in the air now. I get more annoyed at him for leaving his work every time I think of it.

Started the new regime of bandaging Dex at bed time. After his bath he gets cream on, then it has to be left for at least 20 mins before he gets his hydrocortisone on. So he’s lying naked for that time with a towel over him. We’re going to work it round “in the night garden” (one of his favourite programmes) cos he’ll lie and watch it. After his last cream he gets the bandage vest and tights on, he HATES getting dressed at the best of times, so trying to get tight bandages on him is a challenge!

Didn’t really do much today.

Out in the garden for about an hour looking for weeds.

Went to docs with Dex for a follow up appointment. After using the great cream that really cleared his skin, it all flared up again. We cant use it very often so we have another 2 creams that we’ve to use as a kind of ladder, a mild one and moderate then the good one. We were told if we use the good one too much it will thin his skin, so im scared to use it now.

Came up the road, had dinner, watched Britain’s Got Talent, then going to bed.

PARTEEEE!!!!!!!!

Should have done this last night.

Monica’s 21st was really good, great to see all the family again. Tina, Arthur’s wife, said if we ever want a wee holiday by the beach to come down. Well, mum and me were straight in there, asking all about the place, how big there hoose was, could they fit us all in, how far to the beach, question, question, question. Found out we could get a flight from about £16 return from Prestwick. So that’ll be our holiday sorted!! I don’t know if Tina really ment for us to jump in and take her up on the offer or not! Oh well, we going now. Arthur was asking after everyone and having a laff. mum asked Jacqueline if she was having a party, she said she wasn’t, so I went over and said to her “here, Jackie! We’re coming to your bit for a blether ok?” “Aye” she says, mum used the bad word “party”, that’s one you DON’T say. So we went to hers for a bit after waiting for about an hour on mum’s taxi pal, she’s SO loyal!! All in all, had a great night and looking forward to seeing them in July when we turn up at their door, but Murray’s not allowed, poor wee thing.

Came home from mum’s early afternoon so Steven could get peace to watch the football only to find out Setanta decided he didn’t have an active account. He has, and was really p’d off, so he had to go to the pub to watch it. didn’t hear him complaining then.

Kai went away till Friday this morning with the school. Waited till the bus drove away, with them all waving at there mum’s and dad’s. Really felt like crying but had to hold it in. I really miss him!!! I found old photo’s of him on his first day of school, I was just telling him about his first day a few weeks ago, now I can show him. I didn’t think anyone had any, so im over the moon and cant wait to show him. His wee face looking over and waving at me and his grandad, awww just sooooo cute!

Took Robbie back home and stayed at Linda’s for a bit. She couldn’t remember speaking to me on the phone last night and telling her I could bring him back, god she was drunk. Thought it’d be the better thing to do cos I knew she have a mother of a hangover today, turned out I was right!

Went to asda for pizza for dinner on the way home. It was horrible, that’s the first one from there that I really didn’t like. OH!! Talking of food, I almost forgot about the wee concoction my mum had on Sat night from the buffet. Chicken curry sauce and sliced strawberry’s!!!! “ack, it all goes down the same way”. maybe it was quite nice? don’t think it’ll be one ill be trying anytime soon!

Football madness!

Giving a wee post this afternoon so I don’t have to catch up with 2 days worth tomorrow.

Took Kai to his football game this morning. I phoned the coach last night and he gave Steven directions to where it was. So this morning, Steven said to go a different way saying it would be quicker… we were 20mins late! Ended up going past the turn off we should have taken. Kai was a sub (probably because he was late) but got on the pitch about 15 mins in. the ref was rubbish. It turned out the ref was the other teams coach and kept giving goals when the other boys were off-side. The end score was 7-4 to the other team. The ref gave 3 offside goals and didn’t give our team a deserved penalty! Our coach was going to take the boys off the pitch he was that peed off.

Went down to shops for more of Dex’s food, he doesn’t like the Heinz stuff!

Just about to leave to go to mums for our night out. Have to remember to take a pen for email addresses.

Going back to my roots

YESTERDAY
Didn’t do much yesterday. Steven out doing the garden, I took Dex out for a wee while but he wasn’t up for it. Later on took Kai to football game in Craigswood, they lost 3-2. He said he didn’t want to play midfield anymore, I think he was just a bit downhearted.

Got home just in time for Linda bringing Robbie through. Laura had her makeup on the way I used to wear mine when I was younger, pink on the top and blue across the eyelid. Had to tell her to “blend blend blend“. (that’s the secret you know!)
Got a wee bottle vodie to have one last night but was too tired to have any. Went to bed around 10.30 and Dex was lying awake. I tried to get him back to sleep and just fell over when Steven came to bed and woke him back up again. Had hardly any sleep, thank goodness it was Steven’s turn to get up.

TODAY
MUMS BIRTHDAY
This morning I had a doctors appointment at 10am, got up at 9 to phone and cancel it, I was too knackered to go and wanted more sleep. Eventually got up at 12, and I could’ve slept longer but thought that I really should make myself get up. txt mum as soon as i could see me phone to wish her "happy birthday", gave her a wee phone later on. Been feeling really sluggish all day, I hope im not coming down with something.

Went out to the garden with Dex about 3ish then Steven took him back in saying he was crabit, I think he just needed a different toy to play with.
Had the dinner then got the photo’s out I got from mum’s last week. You want to see some of these! Kai and Robbie were rolling about laughing at some of them.

Alive and kicking thanks very much!

At the hospital today with Dex to see the nurse. Gave us 3 more creams to use along with the other creams and soaps and some bandages for him too. We’ve to use them even though he looks fine. I hate using them, its just that the last time they rolled up to behind his knees during the night and gave him some really nasty looking blisters. If that happens again, im not using them! I got a couple creams off her too for my dry skin on my hands and the back of my neck.

Went to Whitburn after the hospital to Steven’s mums house cos he had an interview for a electrician course. This will cost round about £6000 for a 2 yr course and 3 weeks down in Liverpool, paying £500 up front!! Erm… think he needs a job first. Told him to try the jobcentre, they might help with fees for it and he could do this while he’s working.

Took Kai and his wee pal to training tonight. He normally gets a lift but because Steven is here I could take him. He’s got a match tomorrow night, so lets hope he scores more goals! Its down at Craigswood for the match, first time there for the team.

Mum phoned tonight. We’re going out on Saturday night to Jacqueline Johnson’s daughter’s 21st birthday party. Looking forward to it, think cousin Arthur’s going to be there too, not see him since John’s party years ago. She says Linda might be going if she can get a b/sitter, if she does, we can make it her birthday night out. we were thinking about doing that next week, but if Linda does come, we can save money on just the one night out. (I’m elskinto and looks like it’ll stay like that for a wee while, well till Steven gets another job.)

Did a wee test online to see which career id be suited too, they came up with an embalmer!!! At the top of the list too!! No way could I do that!

FINISHED!!! that’s the bathroom DONE, tick for that. Been raining here for the past few days, quite heavy at times too, so the garden’s on hold for now. Just to dig up the weeds where the grass is going to be. Will I put some pictures of it on? Do you want to see?

Went to shops for Dex’s food and nappies and ended up getting chocolate things as well. I knew I should have had something to eat before we went down.


Steven sent an email to his work today, he’s not going back. The stress of angry customers was getting to him so he’s been looking for a new job. I didn’t expect him to do it at all, he must really have been unhappy or he wouldn’t have done it. He phoned his mum and got a lecture for his actions cos he has a family to look after. He’ll get something else soon, I hope.

What time?!

Had a long lie in today, I must have needed it. I got up at 11 o’clock, and that was Steven waking me!

Shannon, her boyfriend Jordan and her wee brother came up for a visit. Kai’s been playing her brother Robbie on xbox live, this is the first they’ve met since Kai was about 5, so that was them in the room all day. Shannon came in the kitchen while I was making dinner and I told her a few wee stories I remembered about ma maw and granny and auntie Peggy. She didn’t know maw stayed with her great granny, said she hadn’t saw a photo of her, and didn’t know what she looked like. So I described her with her pinnie, and blue glasses, and the wee bit under her eye where she had the skin graph. Ill have to look out a photo for her to see. Gave them all their dinner, (curry) and they left about 6ish.

Got around to eventually doing the tiles, at last! Just a few things to put up now to finish it off, but will wait till tomorrow, don’t want to waken Dexy boy.

Dex’s skin is looking fantastic. We’ve been using the new cream from the hospital and it’s the first time ive felt his wee belly with baby soft skin! Even behind his knees is the same colour as the rest of him! Really happy with the way he’s looking.

Lost journey

Well, didn’t manage to get the bathroom finished, but I will have it done this week, I promise myself! I’ve been waiting long enough for me to do the tiles.

Went to Whitburn to pick up the wee sucker seat for the bath for Dex. Then to the bowling club where we thought Steven’s mum and dad would be. I promised Kai we would have a wee cola and packet crisps, (something I used to love doing when I went Saturday shopping up the street then getting smuggled into The Sefton) but they weren’t there. Found out later on that his mum was inside but didn’t look there. Oh well.

Got home and were going to have a BBQ but couldn’t get it lit. so just spent some time outside with a wee beer, almost just as good.

Watched the “episode finale” of Lost, had to have a big cliff hanger, hate that! don’t know when its back on again, and here was me just getting into it! Typical!

Proud mum!

Was up early yesterday. got started straight away with the house work, and didn’t stop till I had to drop off Steven at his mums with Dex, and Kai and me to our’s. I totally scrubbed the bathroom floor to get the paint drips off, as well as all Dex's ironing. Billy and Shannon were at mum‘s, but it didn’t seem as if I was there that long before I had to leave again to pick up Steven and Dex. On our way along the motorway it was TEAMING down with rain, thought it was going to be a long journey, but it wasn’t too bad.
Got home and caught up with the rest of “Lost” so that’s us up to date now. I miss it tonight. Really getting into it and the last episode is next week, its getting pretty mental!

Got up and took Kai to football this morning. He’s been moved to play midfield, before he was defending. When I went back to pick him up the coach shouted to him, “hey Kai! Go and tell your mum!”. Kai ran over and told me he scored his first goal! YEAH!! The coach’s wife told me that he is in the front runners for being awarded the most improved this season, but ive not to tell him just in case someone else overtakes him. The coach is really impressed with him! that’s great eh! His team also won 5-0. They’ve being doing brilliant lately!

Got home from Kai’s game to get ready to go to Rachel’s wee lassie Ella’s 2nd birthday with Dex, this is his first party and he won pass the parcel! Got a txt from Billy that he, Lynn and Liam were coming to pay us a wee visit. Liam’s getting really big! He’s even got hair AND he’s nearly crawling! they’ve got someone to rent their house so will be moving in with mum for a bit before they go off to New Zealand.

Watched a bit of “Wanted” tonight, film with Angelina Jolie. Steven kept falling asleep. I hate watching a film together then he falls asleep, so he’s away to bed. Every time I went down for a fag, I kept hearing music and I was thinking, I could be just as well out somewhere and just let him sleep. Its really annoying being the on my own on a Saturday night. It gets depressing, he does it all the time.

Gonna try and finish the bathroom tomorrow. All I have to do is paint the grout in-between the tiles, then get Steven to put up the pictures and the blind, then it’ll be DONE!

the before shot!

Thought I should show you a wee bit of the “before” pics of the garden I took probably around 2 weeks ago, and what a change since then! Ive taken some more pictures so I’ll show them as we go along, its really looking great.


Had a really sore head last night so didn’t get round to blogging. Sometimes I feel its like a chore when im tired, quite a lot these days, you know, baby and all. Anyway, went down for Dex’s prescription but the doc hadn’t put how much of the cream he was to have, so we didn’t get it till today when they got it sorted out.

Went to our local gardening centre for some chipped bark, 2 bags for a tenner so we got 2 and a few more plants. I was thinking that it would cost a fortune to do the garden, but its really mostly hard work (Steven) and getting things as you go along. I was saving up in the post office for the garden but that was all away last week when we used it for our holidays.
In the photo above, you can bearly see the beautiful wee tree. That part is all done and finished now, wait till i show you it! Mum and Linda will see it John but you wont, so im doing the pics just for you. hope you want to see what im doing?
Was out in the garden for most of the day today. Had Dex out in his buggy after he had his lunch and he was quite content for a while, playing with his wee toys out in the fresh air. After a wee while when he got fed up, I got his ring and let him play in that for a bit. I think he had a good wee day, out in the garden. It was lovely here, just a wee bit breezy. I love how the garden’s coming on. Might just give Steven a wee kiss for his hard work!

Beechgrove Garden

Had dentist today, need 2 very small fillings on old ones. She said after having a baby, teeth and gums change a lot and that mine really wasn’t to bad. I asked about teeth whitening, £360 for her to do it, I thought it’d be MUCH more expensive.

Went to aldi’s and Morrison’s for my weekly shopping, got all of Dex’s wee jars in.

Out doing the garden today again, well Steven done most of it, I only really weeded the strawberry patch. its really comming on and starting to look pretty good! Shannon and her wee boyfriend gave us a wee visit since they were bored. I told them if they were coming to help in the garden, they didn’t. big surprise there, but they did keep Dex amused.

His face has flared up today, I thought about taking him down to the docs, put a wee bit of his hydrocortisone on and it started to die down.

Catching up with the “Lost” that we’ve had for ages. Only 3 more to watch and that’s us caught up, at last.

its been a long time!

Holiday was good. Caravan was a tin can, an unclean one at that. As soon as I got into the tin can, I put Dex in his seat and started cleaning the kitchen straight away. Scooshed “flash” all over the bathroom and left it for the cleaner, it was DISCUSTING! weather was totally rubbish, torrential rain, very wet, and force gale winds. mum came down on the Tuesday. It was great to have her around, had a really nice time with her. She was up for drinking more than me! We got a lovely pic of the weans from the photo shop, Cost a blooming fortune. Had an argument with the bar staff for selling me glasses of ice after paying £1.60 for a cola! absolute disgrace. Took Kai 2 secs to finish his. Had two shots with Kai on the go karts and being a driver I beat him twice, YEEEES! Went for a walk for about 2hrs with Steven, Kai, Dex and Murray. Probably the only 2 hours of dry weather, Murray was knackered! I really did have a lovely time though, even after all my moans, its still good to get away.

OH MY GOD!!! ma hoose is STINKING!!! between the nappy bin at the top of the stairs, and the bathroom right beside it, steven having a "dodgy belly" and Kai coming home from school asking if the toilet's empty, been at school all day now home for THE toilet, its bloody stinking in here! thank god its a sunny day here so i can open all the windows, WIDE!!! pooeee. just sprayed some Glade to mask the smell, big mistake. its now a smell between stinking poos and flowers. ugh

Came home on Friday and Billy and Shannon gave us a visit. Had Chinese for dinner then had a early night. Saturday, Tracey phoned me to go down for a wee drink with the girls, so was down there all day.

cleaned up the house a bit yesterday till ma mum came with our bag of washing. No she didn’t clean it for us, we couldn’t fit it in the car. Put a rinse in her hair for her, I really should be doing my own, ive not done it for months and the lassies are starting to point it out!

Been watching some of Linda’s clothes on ebay, think ill start to do it myself. Ive got LOTS of clothes to take to charity. It’ll be a big job though.

Phoned my work today to find out when ive to go back. I thought it would be maybe next week, turns out its not till June 15th!!!! Ages yet!

Had Dex at hospital today with his eczema. Just going to try more creams. Have to take him next week for an hour long appointment with the nurse so she can tell us everything to do with eczema and how to do all his bandages if he needs them. I think he will need them now and then, its just a wee shame, it gets really bad sometimes.

Steven in bed just now, he's ill, dodgy belly. Dex watching the telly, quietly. Kai out with his pals till its time for him to go to football training. Me, im just having a nice bit of quiet time, got about 10 mins left.

Might add some more later as its so early in the day.

early the night...

hardly done anything yesterday, so didn't think it was justified to post. only last night i watched 5 episodes of "come dine with me" then started to catch up with "pushing daisies" and Steven came in from work. i was having a wee vodie and wanted to chat, but he stayed up for about an hour then went to bed. that was about 12ish. i stayed up to have another wee vodka and spoke to john for a couple mins but he told me to go to bed. so off i went to bed, probably around 3.

asked Steven to get up for Dex and got a moan from him back. don't think I'm allowed to have a drink on a Sat night! but he got up anyway, then i was told to get up at 10.

Linda came through and took Robbie home, just before she left ma mum came through to change motors with me for our holidays tomorrow. we just wont be able to fit much in our own car, if Dex wasn't with us we could. its like a flittin when we go anywhere now.

done some washing, watched Steven dig the garden, planted a few plants, made the dinner. made beef burgers, now the house stinks, all the clothes'll be humming. going in for a bath, im knackered.

probably wont be blogging till maybe Friday.

out in the garden today and finished off the heather patch, well almost, i just have to get some more plants to fill in the bald patches. Steven put in the other plants we got the other day, and i have to correct myself. i said we got 3 for £5 of alpines but it was actually 6 for a fiver!!!!

went to train station to pick up Robbie. Kai got all hyper as soon as he arrived. 10 Min's after Robbie got here, Steven took the boys to the flicks to see the new Xmen film about wolverine and i stayed in and took care of Dex.

hopefully back in the garden tomorrow, i really should take some before and after pics to show you. that's what ill do tomorrow, then you'll see the progress.

Was at Docs today with Dex about his skin again, just a wee check-up to see how he's doing. asked about sun cream and what kind to use. She asked "oh where are you going?" just to Ayr we said, and she burst out laughing!!! she thought we were going to somewhere hot because we were asking about cream!

helped Kai for about 2 hrs with his project which is due in tomorrow, usual Kai, waiting till the last minute. remind you of anyone?

no work done in the garden today, Steven was tired and went to bed for 2hrs at 1pm today, by the time he got back out of bed i had to go to the centre for some things for our hollipop's on Monday. we're going to the caravan for 4 days, Dex's first holiday!

TUESDAY
after a night of almost NO sleep i got up to take Kai to the dentist to have his braces fitted. on our way there he was telling me how scared he was and that his heart was thumping. what a wee shame, i kept telling him it'd be ok, he'll be fine. he tried to do a deal with me, you know like the other one when i had to give him a fiver if he was brave. "NO WAY" i said, i was out of a fiver the last time. so while we were waiting, he was getting more and more nervous. then the time came to go in. he sat in the big dentist chair and the big dentist man looked into his mouth for about 4 seconds and said, "your braces will be ready in 3 weeks". Kai looked at me with a look of confusion and relief, but he'll have to do it all again in a few weeks time, so no braces yet!
went to bed early to catch up on my sleep and Dex had me wakened most of the night losing his dummy. he had a wee restless sleep too.

WEDNESDAY
tried to get out to help Steven in the garden today but Dex didn't want to be in his buggy watching us, so i took him a wee walk round the park and gave him his first ever shot on a swing! his face didn't really show any emotion at all so i took him back out again.
went to B&Q to get more soil improver and ended up getting loads of wee alpine plants, 3 for £5!!! we've got lots of space to fill so we'll have to get other plants as well but these will do for now.
after Kai came in from school i managed to get out for a wee shot of weeding. was out for about an hour, but it looked like i only got a tiny bit done! then Steven took over and finished the wee bit i started while i went in to feed Dex and to put the dinner on.
gave Dex a bath in the sink tonight (so you could say i gave him a sink, no it doesnt sound right), he loves it! got me soaked while he splashed his wee fat legs, got everywhere else soaked too. its great to see his wee face enjoying the water. had an early bath myself tonight, all ready for another early night.

SATURDAY
Kai had a football game on Saturday, they won 7-5!! they are defiantly getting better!
had a wee chat with Cree on facebook, she says she was sick, watching Bridget Jones, no wonder she was sick!
went down to B&Q to get some things in for the garden. we got some soil improver and my beloved strimmer/trimmer. i just had to have a shot. so on Sat afternoon, out it came, all shiny and new. had to get a bit of help from Steven to put it together, then off i went, strimming almost everything that was above my trainers! i think i even chopped off the beginnings of our lillys which were covered with weeds, aw well. i even cleaned the moss off the edging bricks with it, it was wonderful!!
Sat night, went down to the "Tap Shop" for Tracey's b/day night out. i was up on the karaoke all night! they kept running out of singers, so i had to help them out. did a few new numbers i hadn't done before. went down pretty well me thinks, but i was utter steam boats so i don't really know. saw oor John's old pal Sam there too, he also had to help out with the lack of singers on the karaoke, great night. Tracey was arguing with one of her pals but i kept well out of it, i had business to do.

SUNDAY
as always after a heavy night out, didn't do much.
After Tracey, in my opinion, was out of order, i had a few of the lassies on the phone asking what had happened????? i was singing all night, how am i to know!? were they not listening to my songs???
Kai made his own piece n ham, lettuce and cucumber, wee chef here. he can even work the washing machine, make tea, coffee and the tumble dryer!! not that he does any of those but he knows how to do it.

MONDAY
Steven was out in the garden all day. it was raining but the wee soul still went out.
Dex is laughing at loads of things now and he loves his wee door swing that bounces, he laffs and laffs when he's in it. he seems to find Murray really funny as well for some reason.
still having the phone going for things that happened on Sat with Tracey. i know more then I'm letting on, but I'm keeping my mooth shut. the best way if you ask me! wont hear a peep from me.

going to try a wee short one tonight, I'm really tired and i want to go to bed.

that cleaning bug is getting worse, i cleaned all my windows today!!!!

Billy and Shannon gave me a visit tonight. Shannon's got really blonde hair, she's dyed it 4 TIMES this week!!

going out tomorrow so probably wont blog till Sun or Mon... see how hungover i am.

stop bugging me around

i stole something today. THERE I SAID IT!! what is was, was, i bought an artificial flower (very nice) for my bathroom a couple weeks ago, and Steven said it looked like the top flower was missing. so today we were in homebase (where i bought it from) and had a look to see if there were any other ones there to see how they looked. i couldn't see any the same as mine but i did see other ones bigger than mine. so i took the top flower off it and stuck it in my pocket! i know i know its BAD, but it was an impulse thing. i just had to do it. so i have that disease, aw well. just this once. we did buy things from the shop. i got a new spade and an edger thingy, like a spade but curved. gonna get a strimmer/trimmer next week when i get more money, ive seen the one i want, its dead good! oh god i cant wait to start the garden. have i said that already?

i think ive got that cleaning bug Linda was talking about! i've been cleaning every day all the time, but tonight i was putting something in the cupboard and thought it looked quite dirty. so i cleaned it. then i continued to clean ALL the kitchen cupboards!!! i think mum has it too, she was telling me about her watching "how clean is your house" and she now has THAT bug!! whats all this about eh??!!

mum was telling me she went for a hearing test and she's to get an aid! what a difference she'll notice. now she wont be able to hear us for all the noise!! hehe

Your so young and beautiful

took Dex to get weighed today, that's him at 16lbs 3oz and now at 63 n half cm. a wee bit below average but all ok. then was late for doc's appointment so i didnt get taken, :-( been waiting a month for it as well!

got on "Jailhouse Rock". Elvis is just soooo gorgeous, no words to describe the man at all. absolutely lush!! they dont make them how they used to anymore. in fact, i think he is the only star ive ever fancied!! GAW RRR JUSS!!!

been looking around the web sites for things for the garden. gonna start it this weekend properly. i mean, ive already made a start, but this will be when, hopefully, you can see a difference. if the weather holds up anyway, if not, thats just another excuse for Steven to do no gardening. i think if it rains, and he says he's not going out, then ill go out and show him up, then complain to him that he's a woose. yeah right, i can just see me now, pulling the weeds in the rain, i DONT think so. i can always look for something else for him to do. god, i sound like a total slave driver, but he only goes to work during the week and NOTHING else.

i'm away to drool over Elvis.

sleepless in kirky

got no sleep last night. Dex slept soundly but i just couldn't sleep! i kept thinking about how to change his wipes to only have water in them. you know with his eczema, it would be much better for him and i could use them to wipe his face. thinking about how to submerge the pack in my wee sink to get all the "sensitive" ingredients out, then rinse in plain water. i think that could work, but I'm sure i threw out the plastic wipe box which I'd keep them in. then whenever i did get to sleep i woke myself up with having nightmares. one was watching a guy violently attacking another guy and i was only 10 feet away. not nice.

went to shops today to spend what was left on Dex's mothercare card. got him a wee summer hat and handles for his advent bottle. i put it on his bedtime one to see how he'd do. so funny watching him, looked like he was really proud of himself, but he doesn't quite get that he has to tip the bottle up yet. wee soul.

Kai got his Xbox back, he's DELIGHTED! I'm not so. ill hardly ever see him now. its back to - me - "time for your telly on Kai" - him - "in a minute", and so on and so on for about an hour before i start to blow my top! just cant get him away from it. thank god for his football. one thing, its a really good threat for punishment.

We're Free!!!

What a lovely weekend I've had. kids went to Stevens mum for Sat night cos Steven won tickets for the cinema on Sunday morning, a 10.30am show. so i was thinking "YEESSS a night out!!" but thinking about the early morning show, i thought, that means either (A) i cant get too drunk on Saturday night or (B) just go out on sat night and not bother going to cinema. which one did i choose? Well, had a few drinks in here before we headed to the local pub, by that time it was 10.45pm so we didn't have a lot of time in the pub before it shut. had a really nice night and we didn't sit not talking, probably cos i was away talking to every stranger in the place, me drunk?? no i wasn't that bad.so went up the road and Steven had set the alarm to get up for the pictures! have you ever heard the likes?!

Sunday morning alarm goes off, was annoyed out of bed by Steven. got up, went in for a bath and felt great!! what an absolutely beautiful day it was. went to the flicks, "state of play" was the film and it really was quite good, then through for the weans. came back and went out to make a start on the weed overloaded garden. I'm just dying to get it done. was out for about 4 hrs, did quite a bit, but because of the state of it you'd hardly think i touched it at all! watched a few episodes of "heros" trying to catch up with it. then off to bed, was totally knackered.

this morning took Dex and Murray for a walk round the park then we all sat out the back with the table and chairs for our coffee. another gorgeous day! did another wee bit pruning while we were out and had a wee talk about what we're going to do. cant wait till its done. i even asked a guy who came round the doors a price to do the landscaping... £1000!!!!! er no thanks, ill just do it myself thanks very much.

eye eye!

OMG! i just measured Kai against the kitchen door and he's taller than me!! we've been measuring him on the door for years and been marking it, he's grown about 5 inches since the last time!

i caught Dex scratching his head today, to late to stop him making marks. i was in fixing his lunch and popped my head round the door to check him and there he was all quiet, having a good scratch. i wanted to give him a wee break from wearing mitts, but i suppose this is telling me i cant.

i noticed i have a few eyelashes missing! i just happened to look in the mirror today and saw i had a wee space, maybe about 5 are missing, maybe more. it doesn't sound like a lot, but i have hardly any as it is and you can see a bald bit!!!! straight away i started putting make-up on to hide it, i wasn't going anywhere but it made me feel better until i thought about washing it off!! OH NO!! what if i wash my face and the rest come off???!! just out the bath having washed my make-up off, and it doesn't look any worse. I'm going to the docs next week so ill ask about it. this is really worrying!

get your motor runnning...

when i was taking Steven to work today, something on my dashboard caught my eye... A FLASHING STOP SIGN!!! ive never seen it before and my temperature gage was rapidly going up and down. i took it straight to Colins after i dropped Steven off. by that time it had stopped? dont know what was wrong with it? got him to check my exhaust while i was there,i knew it was making a noise, but i didnt know the bloody thing was falling off!! its going in tomorrow to get fixed. told him to "put it on my tab".

took Kai for a haircut, my, how different he looks. hes starting to look like a real teenager and hes got ages before he's one! he's got the hairiest legs in the school, apart from the men teachers. i told him all the girl's will fancy him now, but he'll have to be nice to them! what a gorgeous wee man i have.

starting my diet again on Monday, there's too much chocolate about for me to stand it. ive not beed too bad. normally if i say im going on a diet, i eat as much bad and fattening things i can, cos i know i wont have it for a long time, then i end up not starting my diet for months and by that time ive put on LOADS more weight! i wonder why?!

Haircut 100...

got my pin-up girl picture today, yeah! asked Robbie and Kai if they liked it and with a wee laff they both said "yes we do". hehe. also got my shower curtain, its dead flimsy, think it'll rip really easy. i should have just got the one i wanted and not listened to Steven, that always happens. got my blind delivered too. it's turned out to be gray and not nearly black, as it looks like on the web site. so i got on the phone to them and told them the colour is completely different to that on the page. they told me they cant take it back cos its made to measure and they advise customers to get a free fabric sample before you buy, all they can do is offer 10% off if i decide to get another one in place of this one. so i got on to the "consumer action group" web site to find out my rights. dont hold out much hope, but better trying than doing nothing huh?

noticed Kai had cut his own hair! he tried to tell me he didnt touch it!! oh well, he's getting it cut tomorrow anyway. thats the first time he's ever done that... ever!

I'm forever blowing bubbles!

really hungover yesterday after a great night out with mum and Linda, lots of carry on and a wee bit dancing. did nothing yesterday, I just couldn't. wanted to go to bed at 4o'clock but couldn't do that either. feel a bit better today, will be back to normal tomorrow.

Linda came through today with the weans. Lolly made me a lovely keyring with her beads, she always makes me good things. Thanks Laura! She's a wee angel. x

went in for a bath after I put Dex down. Kai and Robbie were away out and as soon as I got my hair wet, Dex woke up. thought he would just go back to sleep, but by the time i got out the bath, he was well awake and screaming! had to console him for ages, well a good 10 mins. went back to the bath, just put a foot in and he woke again! went back through, put his dummy in, got back in the bath...aahhhhh bliss. started shampooing my hair and "Waaaaahhhhhhh", he's at it again. so oot I get, settle him again, back to the bath. rinse hair, condition hair, finish washing, rinsing conditioner off then "WAAAAAAHHHHHH" again!!! so I just put my head under the water and kidded on i didn't hear him. thought I'd better get him, jumped out the bath AGAIN and by the time i got to the bedroom door, he was sleeping!! wee shite! so i had a really nice relaxing bath tonight!

Thought id better write this before its tomorrow!

Linda, I was just saying to my mum last week about when I used to come home from work on Saturday, after a hard days work. One saturday I got liver, and cos I hadn’t had it for ages, maybe years, I really enjoyed it! So I said to mum, “that was really nice mum!!” BIG MISTAKE!! Every Saturday for about 7 weeks I got liver for my dinner! I should have appreciated the fact that she went to the trouble to make it for me, but I got really sick of it after the 3rd week. I think by the 7th week I just came out with it after holding it in for weeks. “Mum!! Why do you make me the same dinner every week??!!!” I would have added a sweary work, but I wasn’t allowed to swear!
